The Black Cake, rich with fruit and wine, A taste that is truly fine Masquerades with whips and troupes with beautiful colours, Parading around on the street of Basseterre. The band music beats, with sweet rhythm. Who ain’t dancing, watching and enjoying. From church to house, to family gathering, We share the love and fill the plate. It’s more than gifts under a tree, But an experience you want to see.

Free Writing This is a concept picked up during my sessions in the course which provided much needed insight for me as a teacher of language and literacy. Extract from Class: Why is writing (written communication) important? "The extent to which a student can demonstrate their academic ability is significantly reliant upon their ability to capture their thoughts in written communication. By the time students reach high school, there are usually word limit guidelines. However, the early years of schooling are more flexible, though there are some key expectations and abilities that students need to meet." The importance of writing has always been a significant concept to uphold in the classroom as it helps...

My Writing Experience My name is Radhames Warner. Throughout my course as a writing teacher, my experience has been truly well-rounded and deeply enriching. Teaching writing has allowed me to develop not only my students’ skills, but also my own understanding of how writing shapes the way we think, communicate, and make meaning. Each lesson, workshop, and student interaction has reinforced the idea that writing is not simply an academic exercise it’s a powerful tool for expression, reflection, and growth. Working with diverse learners has helped me recognize the many ways students approach writing. Some enter the classroom eager to put their thoughts on paper, while others struggle to find the right words. Over time, I have learned to adapt strategies to meet different learning needs, encouraging confidence, creativity, and clarity. This flexibility has enriched my teaching style and allowed me to appreciate the different paths students take toward mastering their written voice. Overal...
