What is Free Writing

HELLO GUYS  Welcome back again!

Well do I have a mouth full for you this week.  Do you remember reading about  FREE WRITING in our last blog? Well that's what we're looking at.


Have you ever heard of the WRITING PROCESS? Take a look below... it may jog your memory.

Looks familiar? I thought so!

The first stage of the Writing process is the Pre-Writing. During this stage, writers gather their thoughts and ideas on their chosen topic. 

This stage of the writing process allows writers to FREE WRITE.

WHAT IS FREE WRITING YOU ASK?  

Well, Free Writing is a technique used by authors to quickly jot their thoughts and ideas down on paper without worrying about grammatical errors, spelling errors or any proper formatting like indentation or paragraphing . 


During our class, our lecturer gave us the oppurtunity to free write on our own topic with the aid of a graphic organizer. Graphic Organizers helps us to gather and sort our ideas.

    Nice post. You explained free writing clearly and I like how you showed its role in the pre-writing stage. The use of graphic organizers was a great example too.

      Thank you Nishel....as teachers I think that the use of graphic organizers is a great tool that we can use to assist our students in gathering their ideas.

    I really enjoyed your post about free writing and the writing process! You explained the pre-writing stage clearly and showed how free writing helps gather ideas without worrying about mistakes. I also liked how you included graphic organizers as a helpful tool to organize thoughts. Your post makes the writing process easy to understand and shows how fun and useful free writing can be.   Overcoming Challenges in Teaching Writing Teaching writing in our classroom comes with certain difficulties. Such difficulties could be: Reluctant Writers : Some students may feel intimidated by writing tasks . Teachers can avoid early draft comments and assign groups to help to balance this. Limited Vocabulary : Many times straining to find the appropriate words are young students. Reading assignments and vocabulary-building games help to improve their linguistic skills. Time Restraints : One could exclude from the curriculum courses in writing. Including writing projects into other disciplines, such historical essays or scientific experiment reports, assures consistency of practice. By addressing these challenges with patience and creativity, educators can ensure that writing remains a vital part of primary education.
