  What is Poetry? Poetry is a form of writing where the sounds and  meaning of words are combined together to express  ones feelings, thoughts and ideas.  During one of our classes, our lecturer challenged us to create various types of poems.  For example:  After our lesson we were then asked to choose our preferred type. In the image below is my poem untitled 'A Sunny Day". This type of poem is called a Personified Poem. In this form you will recognize the use of various personification used to bring out the true meaning of "A Sunny Day".  How to start writing poems:

  Rain Clouds   D o you know what rain clouds are? They are tiny droplets that float in the sky. Rain clouds are formed when the warm air rises from different water bodies. The warm air cools down when it meets the cooler air higher in the sky. Water vapour then turns into tiny drops that stick to dust. The more drops that come together, the bigger and heavier the clouds grow. This is how rain clouds are formed.

                                  WHAT IS NARRATIVE WRITING? Emma Experiences Winter   “ How long will it take? Will it be hot? Oh I hope not!” questioned the excited Emma. “Oh boy!” exclaimed daddy, “You are too excited!” Emma is traveling to England for the first time. She is all excited to experience whether or not the snow is as cold as the ice. After arriving in England, she realizes that it is indeed colder than the Caribbean. After stepping off the plane, Emma quickly halled on her thick, cozy jacket her mom had ordered on Shein for her. During the first week, Emma took every chance to play in the white shaved-like ice called snow. By the end of the week she began to feel snuffy. “Achoo! Achoo!  HELLO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's been awhile...I know... but welcome back to our blog.  In our last blog we spoke about free writing but this week I will introduce you to the different genres of writing.  The piece included in this blog are my original pieces written during my classes....My writing pieces solely focuses on the Grade 4 level as they a short and sweet. However, feel free to use them and expound or reduce to cater to whatever grade level you desire........be sure to leave feedback.    What is Descriptive Writing?  Here is a breakdown of the different types of writing. Mastering these different types allows a writer to communicate effectively for any purpose and any audience.
